Our big dog made a new friend in town today.
Beautiful to watch.
We met the girl later in town, and our dog was very happy to see her again!

The well known Serbian performance artist Marina Abramovic is now represented at the Contemporary Art Projects at the BGE.

A unique artist
with unique portraits.

The gallery has a very nice architecture and is situated next to the Catholic Church.
It looked like it was a popular place to visit on a Sunday.
Nice to meet people who are eager to tell about the art and the artist too.

FINKEL

FINKEL at the colourful street Øvre Holmegate is serving coffee, wine and food.
Outside they have this creative letterbox.

Three brothers.

Three brothers running straight in to the North Sea.
They were fit, very athletic and did not hesitate to run.
Their mum and sister were watching just like me.
Impressive, but it's still too COLD for most people.

Sunny afternoon and so nice to feel a bit of warmth.

From Portugal to Stavanger.

Happy times and good memories.
Isn't that what childhood should include?

This is Gabriel and his mum Ana who I met out on our morning walk today.
They came to Stavanger 4 years ago from Lisbon / Portugal, together with  Gabriel's dad who is working for the council.
Gabriel spoke Norwegian and is going to a Norwegian school. Mum who is actually from Funchal / Madeira spoke English very well. They were out in town  having a good time together.
Nice meeting you two!

HARRY PEPPER

HARRY PEPPER is a restaurant that has moved to a new location.
It has been in town since 1986.
Perhaps time to give it a new visit and see if it is as good as it used to be.

A disaster.

Sad to see what happened with this house just before Christmas last year.
Two women, one visiting the other, had to be rescued out of the flames!!
One died shortly after.
Nothing has changed with the house.
I guess it comes down to insurance and also what the owner(s) want for the future.

Stavange has got a wonderful place for Contemporary Art.
BGE Contemporary Art Projects
It is situated next to the Catholic Church at Kannik, and has not only great art, but also great architecture.
They also have a good collection of Art Books for sale.
New exhibition coming soon.

I will promise to post some art next time.
You might have been visiting it before the new building, when it was at Tollboden ?

Anyway, hope you have had a nice and happy weekend!

Seafood for lunch.

Friends out for lunch at the fish market restaurant.
My food was tasty (could have had more prawns on the sandwich though).
Anyway, lots of yummy taste, and nicely presented.
Unfortunately, the place was noisy with people in and out, carrying ordered boxes with sea food, noisy music and air-conditioning, plus noise from the kitchen and the shop.
The restaurants phone rang again and again and again. Please answer it!
New staff, who struggled with the menu as well as the language.
On top of that, only one of us managed to pay. We were sitting an awful long time waiting to pay, so at the end walked up to the bar area to pay.
The coffee was good and if you are seated with a view out to the boats and harbour area it can be pleasant.

The day started with some (wet) snow and only +1C

COS

I think many customers where happy when COS opened in Stavanger.
A Swedish brand, who have had 3 shops in Oslo, and last year the first one outside the capital opened here in our city.

Sad to see....

Sad to see that it is necessary to chain benches in town.

I liked this house.
It looks like people have put love and money in to make it a nice and comfortable place to live.
The area might look a bit like "Old Stavanger" but it is on the other side of the city. A short walking distance in to the city centre.
