Saturday 31 March 2012

I went to the bakery and bought, not nice muffins, but "Kanel-i-svingene", to the left of the muffins :)
Amalie is happy to work here on Saturdays and also to help out some other times during the week.
But I guess she will be busy with her "Health and Social" studies over the coming weeks,
before summer holidays start.

Friday 30 March 2012

Sporty Man was out jogging on the beach.
Very foggy, and not many people about.

Happy weekend!

Thursday 29 March 2012

Today we had a fairly nice temperature, + 13 C, but the wind made it feel colder.

Wednesday 28 March 2012

Nice work.

Tuesday 27 March 2012

The Auglend area.
And the E39, the motorway.

Monday 26 March 2012

Mr. Müller "aus München", has been living for many years in Stavanger, with his Norwegian wife.
I met him on my walk, when my friend and I were busy using our cameras. We started talking, and he told us that he will be 98 years old later this year. He also showed us some excellent photos from his camera, of the birds that he feeds every day.
He is out walking, - and is still driving his car.

Sunday 25 March 2012

Brita ( a nurse student) was out with her little cute dog, Monti
(4 months old.)
Nice to say hello and have a chat!

Saturday 24 March 2012

It is SUMMERTIME again, so tomorrow I`ll start at work really early.....
Tonight we put our clocks forward.

This is just one of several clocks around town, which has taken a time out, and not worked for years.

Friday 23 March 2012

Around the little lake Mosvannet this morning.
Very foggy, but it turned out to be a bright and SUNNY day!
Spring is here.

Thursday 22 March 2012

Christoffer Schjelderup is the name of this entertainer from Bergen, who had the stage at "Checkpoint Charlie" for himself at the end of the show last night, and who really made the audience to laugh!!
The show was in English, with entertainers also from USA, South Africa and England.

Wednesday 21 March 2012

A blue eyed blond, sticking it's neck out.
We met while I was out on a walk today.

Saturday 17 March 2012

Christian, the poor guy you see here who I photographed a week back, will be a married man in a weeks time. He was out with his friends who "forced him" to sing in front of the Culture House.
I felt sorry for the guy, but one of his friends said: "Don`t you worry, he is a teacher and used to standing on a stage.... "
Well, I guess you had a time to remember, and I wish you all the best for the BIG DAY soon!

Friday 16 March 2012

"Kyssekroken", or the "KISSING POINT" opened at the airport today.
If you want to find out who the lucky couple were who opened the place,
click on this link

So would you have used this place?
Do you have a similar area at your airport??

Thursday 15 March 2012

Today I celebrate blogging for exactly 1000 days with 1000 postings here on StavangerDailyPhoto!
A great big THANK YOU to ALL of you who follow my blog, and to everyone who takes the time to add their comments.
Perhaps I will blog tomorrow as well, and make it 1001 days?

Wednesday 14 March 2012

The old market place is still fairly empty, but the reason that the Dutch clog has been put here, has another reason than just being an interesting new landmark. It is an ongoing competition via our airport's site on Facebook, and KLM, the Dutch airline, who have just increased the number of daily flights to Amsterdam to 5 !:)

The two young women Maria and Laura, are not Dutch, nor Norwegian, they are from CLUJ NAPOCA in Romania. They live and work here in Stavanger.
Who knows, they might even win a trip for two to Amsterdam!:)
So look out for even more Dutch items placed in different locations around the Stavanger area.

Tuesday 13 March 2012

REBEL has become as common as OLGA on walls and buildings, all over the city.
This wall will probably cost quite a bit of our tax money to put back to normal again!

Monday 12 March 2012

I have just arrived back from an event by a Norwegian Publishing Agency, who held a combined dinner and presentations of 8 books and 9 authors.
This is Katherine Webb (to the right) who is from the UK.
She has written "The Legacy" and "The Unseen", both popular here in Norway.
Thanks to Gyldendal, here represented with Janneken Øverland, - for a nice evening!:)

Sunday 11 March 2012

They ALWAYS make nice and tasty food!:)
This weeks treat for me was spicy fish soup!
Yummy!!

The place: Cafe STING.

Saturday 10 March 2012

Barbie is back?
I met two men today, who had been dressed up by good friends...
This is RAYMON, who will get married next week.
He and his friends had a good time!!
Best wishes to Mr. and Mrs.
As you said Raymon, I hope your parents in law in South America will NOT see this, but even if they do they will probably be pleased to see your sense of humor!:)

Friday 9 March 2012

I just LOVE old wooden doors!

And I look around for doors abroad as well as here in my own city.
I even have books about doors.
- Happy weekend, again!:)

It is very windy here with lots of rain.

Tuesday 6 March 2012

There was frost and a bit of snow outside this morning.
We have had all types of weather the last few days.
I am longing for warmer days and SUNSHINE!
This is the tower "Ullandhaug" at the place with the same name.

Monday 5 March 2012

Somewhere for skateboard fanatics to sit!
A creative bench in the town centre.
And yes VP, no problem if you want to :)

Sunday 4 March 2012

Luckily we still have some farmland left in and around Stavanger!
(Some politicians have got some strange ideas so we don't know how long it will last!)

Today's model knows where to find food!:)

Saturday 3 March 2012

Like a monument out in the woods.....

Friday 2 March 2012

I wish you A HAPPY WEEKEND!
This is a swan on the little lake "Vannassen", 10 minutes away from the city centre by car.

Thursday 1 March 2012

This afternoon I met 4 architecture students from 4 different countries, who were all here in the area to explore the style of buildings out at Jæren, south of Stavanger.
Well, they were all students studying up in Trondheim for one year!
Nice meeting you sporty young women!
Have a nice time here and also other places around in Norway.

From left : Vanesa from Chile, Nerea from Spain, Laurie from France and Yaara from Israel.
