ONS 2016

The ONS ( Offshore Northern Seas) 2016 is on this week.
An impressive event with oil and gas companies from all over the world.

Even the fact that many companies have been struggling for more than a year, and lots of people have lost their jobs.... this event looked very much like "business as usual".

I liked the style, the artistic design and colours here.
Listening to the people around me (all men) they were more interested in other details.

There will be lots of social events too. Take a look at www.ons.no

Today

What happened today?
I had a trip in to town and I met JACK, a fellow CDP blogger, and his wife, who are now on a holiday in Europe. We had a coffee and a nice chat before I followed them back to the cruise ship. Next stop is Aalborg / Denmark. Enjoy the time over here. Here is  Jack's blog

Skyggesiden.

" Skyggesiden " is written on these banners. (Skygge means shade in English.)
It is part of the little road Øvre Holmegate, but absolutely not as colourful as the rest of Fargegaten.
There are some restaurants and businesses going on here, but the traffic is making it difficult to make it in to a lively place. This summer it has been closed for cars, and restaurant tables have been moved out on to the pavements...... I don't know if it will become permanent, I guess that will be a political dissuasion.

The day after the TOGA PARTY.

Student life includes lots of fun!
This young man was walking on the pavement as I parked my car just after 1 o'clock this afternoon.
Mr.X told me that he was on his way back home after yesterdays TOGA PARTY.
I have to give the young student credit for his outfit and his walk back home:)
Enjoy Stavanger!

The Wedding Day

Sometimes when the weather is just grey and wet. I choose to put out an image from a SUNNY day.
And last Saturday, after days with rain and even flooding some places, we suddenly got some SUNSHINE again.

My husband and I were out on a walk in the afternoon, and suddenly this shiny colourful car passed us, and made a turn and slowly drove towards our direction again.
I thought I saw a bride, and YES it was.

Out of my pocket came my little camera..... and I just managed to get this snapshot :)

Best wishes to the happy bride and groom!

You had picked the perfect sunny summer day for your wedding!

Where Winds Are Gaining Speed.

This is contemporary art seen at Hå Gamle Prestegård.
(Looking out the window now, reminds me of this..... It is grey  and soon it will start raining.)
I was lucky to attend a guided tour when I saw this, so I learned about the work and the thoughts behind the art.

The artist BEILI LIU from China, now living and working in the USA had another installation at the same place five years ago. This time she is showing how she found the landscape here, and to me it is close to real and quite impressive, also the way it is done.

Time for my first cup of coffee.
Happy new day, everyone !

BREIDABLIKK

The mansion "Breidablikk" is well worth a visit.
It is just opposite Ledaal, the royal residence.

Breidablikk was built in 1881, and the house was given to the museum around 1970.
A Swiss style and some beautiful items shows how the middle class lived.

(Remember: Don't pay for two entrances fees if you are planning to see both places.
The ticket is valid for both places.)
