A disaster.

Sad to see what happened with this house just before Christmas last year.
Two women, one visiting the other, had to be rescued out of the flames!!
One died shortly after.
Nothing has changed with the house.
I guess it comes down to insurance and also what the owner(s) want for the future.

A white house.

I liked this house.
It looks like people have put love and money in to make it a nice and comfortable place to live.
The area might look a bit like "Old Stavanger" but it is on the other side of the city. A short walking distance in to the city centre.

Sayings by Ajax.

Up in the air you can see "sayings" by Ajax (Andreas Jakobsen 1909-1995), who wrote stories using local dialect and wrote about Johanna and her brother Broremann.
Business people around the city centre have gone together and paid for more lights, that will light up some of the narrow streets.

Greek and Spanish.

No Greek restaurant anymore, nor Spanish.
The Spanish one I only visited once, the Greek, more often a few years back.
The best thing was the Sunday Lunch Buffet.
That I miss from time to time.

Kim Larsen

Kim Larsen is a Danish rock musician who, at the age of 72 , will give a concert in Stavanger next year. He is a legend in Scandinavia and obviously still has a huge following.

The banners and adverts are already out, like here at the ongoing roadworks at Madlaveien and the motorway.

Klepp

Another image taken from the air.
It is Klepp, and the area with the houses is Verdalen.
Driving by car it takes about 30 minutes from the centre of Stavanger.
I was going away for a couple of days.
And as always, happy to get a window seat! :-)

Yellow door.

Number 2 is a white wooden house.
The entrance door is bright YELLOW, and that I like!

In Norwegian I would have said: Gult er kult.
Which means: Yellow is cool.
Anyway, it sounds better and it rhymes in Norwegian

Have a good weekend!
