Beach life

This is Elisabeth Nessler and Bjørn Sola together with their two dogs.
Not a common thing to see, a Norwegian guy wearing a kilt (on yet another snowy day!)
He told me that he actually had five kilts...
So perhaps he will inspire more Norwegian men to dress the same way?
Great to see a man who is man enough to dress just the way HE likes.
Together with a good friend I was out walking on the beach, before celebrating "International Women's Day" with some nice food at the hotel on the beach.
Have a nice evening, everyone!

Light evenings.

Mainly grey days over here in the Stavanger area.
But wow, what a surprise with sunshine yesterday afternoon/evening!
We went for a walk on the beach yesterday evening.
Our dog doesn't bother so much about the weather. Here she is taking an overview out over the North Sea on the beach at Sola.
The time was just after 22.00 when this photo was taken. Still light. The maximum daytime temperature yesterday was around +14C

YELLOW.

Out on the beach today I noticed these two sporty happy teens, Hannah and Malene.
They were getting ready to surf out on the North Sea waves.
We have had a wonderful day.
Blue sky and lots of sunshine.
PS. YELLOW is GUL (in Norwegian)
For me, yellow is the colour of Easter.
Today, my photograph captures both the colour and the name (Gul).

Kvassheim Lighthouse.

Kvassheim lighthouse was operating from 1912 to 1990.
Today it is open every day during the summer season, the rest of the year on Sundays, apart from the month January.
It is a small coffee place and a small museum.
A little harbour is next to the parking area and you can walk next to the north sea and enjoy the nice open landscape.
It is south of Stavanger, and a good choice to visit when you are out at the area Jæren.

Summer in September.

We still have a FANTASTIC summer!!
In the Nordic countries summer is when we have +20C
( other places it will be summer when there are +25C )
For more than a week we have not had a drop of rain, and that together with temperatures much higher than what we are used to makes it worth remembering.
It feels good!
