Obrestad Lighthouse

Obrestad Lighthouse is situated about 35km south of Stavanger.
The art and culture centre, Hå Gamle Prestegård you can see in the distance.
If you are interested to rent a studio /flat or even one of the houses on the properties you can do so.
www.lighthousesofnorway.com is a good place for more information.

Power To The Bees.

"Power to the bees" is the title for this years summer exhibition at Hå Gamle Prestegård.
An art and culture centre about 1 hour drive south of Stavanger.
Today there was quite a big group of visitors but unfortunately no guided tour.
It would have been interesting to hear more about the artists:
Sabino Guiso (Mexico), Louis Masai (UK), Stanislaw Brach (Polen,) Ann Kristine Aanonsen and Sidsel Hanum (Norway), Ren Ri (China) and Terence Koh (US)
I have to say that this place manage again and again to deliver some really arty surprises.
I recommend going there.
Remember that the same ticket is also valid at the lighthouse Obrestad.

Kvassheim Lighthouse.

Kvassheim lighthouse was operating from 1912 to 1990.
Today it is open every day during the summer season, the rest of the year on Sundays, apart from the month January.
It is a small coffee place and a small museum.
A little harbour is next to the parking area and you can walk next to the north sea and enjoy the nice open landscape.
It is south of Stavanger, and a good choice to visit when you are out at the area Jæren.

Obrestad Lighthouse has been "artified".
It was done by the British artist Lucy McLauchlan as a part of Nuart
The walls should have been repainted white, but that was postponed for a year to allow it to be used in cooperation with the artist via Nuart.
My husband doesn't like it, and he is looking forward to the day it is repainted white.
What do you think? Like it, or don't like it?
