Scotland won!

Here is the update on yesterdays image.....

Scotland won with 6 over Norway who were doing well, but lost and got only 5.
I have to say that the Scottish supporters were very enthusiastic, and the players too.
CONGRATULATIONS  to The Royal Caledonian Curling Club / Scotland!

Curling.

If you are watching TV and are interested in SPORT, 

you might have seen the European Championship in curling, that are taking place in Stavanger theses days?

This is Thomas Ulsrud.

He is the skipper of the Norwegian men`s Curling Team.

The Norwegian players are easy to spot because of their red, white and blue trousers.

Thanks to the company who invited some customers to this event.

They also provided food and drinks, as well as information about their company.

And not least, for the game itself. I have never seen curling LIVE before.

Small businesses are really struggling these days....
This bookshop is selling out their books with prices next to nothing.
And they will probably leave Stavanger before the end of the year.

Italian Cafe at the Xmas market.

Some of the pupils at the Rudolf Steiner school had setup an Italian Cafe, with quality food and nice proper Italian coffee. I asked if they learned Italian at school, but no, they learned Spanish.
Anyway, they are off to ROME on a school trip soon. Lucky young people!
The lunch was yummy and full of garlic. Hopefully they got their travel budget in the plus after the Xmas market at the weekend.

As I said in yesterdays posting, the xmas market is on the whole weekend.

More music, more entertainment and more to buy.

It looks like we will have a cold, but sunny day here in Stavanger.

Exhibitions of schoolwork, the sale of home made, as well as school made, food and products.
Pony riding, fun for kids and a nice place to be.

We were three friends who had healthy and tasty lunch at Fish & Cow today!
I will be back!
Sunny and cold outside, and I finished off with the best Americano coffee I have had for a long time.

Shopping in a mall, like here at KVADRAT can be a pure pleasure on a sunny day!
Free parking and plenty of space to walk, and lots of shops under the same roof.

It is getting colder now, and we have snow up in the mountains.

We have had plenty of rain, and from time to time
suddenly a glimpse of a rainbow!:)

Auglendsveien.

Sometimes I notice that a house or two has disappeared from a street, and I keep wondering what did it look like before..... Well, it did not take long before this house had been leveled to the ground.
I will have to keep an eye on this place and perhaps show you what the new house is looking like next year.

The days are getting colder, and we have plenty of rain. Suddenly a bit of sunshine.
This is a view over Auglend, and people living up on the hillside can even get a glimpse of the fjord.

Another creative person I met at the PWC event was Julia Phelps from Reading in England.

She has been living in Stavanger for the last two years.

And she makes wonderful things for children.

It is never too late.

These 3 sporty ladies I met at the airport today.
They were on their way to New York City to actually take part in the Marathon!!!

The lady on the left has been doing it 3 times now, the other two had taken part in the NYC marathon once before.

It's never too late they said.....

I wish them a great time, and with their good spirits and sense of humor, I am sure they will have lots of FUN too.
