Up in the control tower.
I visited the control tower today.
It was not the first time, but it still amazes me the fact that there are people who day and night follow the weather, all the traffic to and from all the oil rigs (helicopters), as well as more than 62 direct destinations and passing traffic......
The airport is undergoing a lot of work, and there will be plenty of new facilities coming in the future.
As you can see the weather was very different from yesterday.

Advertising ?
Last weekend at the antique market I saw these old posters for sale, and I was wondering where they will end up. In a pub in Stavanger?
Well, they might have to be covered up.... Not a thing you will see any other place on the planet I guess.
Take a look at the link here and the images:

What to do today?
There are probably lots of people who are heading to the the last day at the antique market at Ålgård/Figgjo area today.
(See Friday's posting as well as today's)
We are heading for the beach.... for a long walk.
It is cold but sunny today!
The schools winter holiday starts on Monday, and many families have already left the town for skiing holidays or a week abroad.

FIGGJO.
FIGGJO is a well known business in our region.
For years they have produced beautiful porcelain that I have actually been drinking and eating from in places such as Dubai and London..... as well as here in Norway.
Their old products are now collectable by young people who find items either at their parents or grandparents, or perhaps at markets, ebay, or other places.
Take a look here for colourful items: figgjo
Several cruise ships and well as large & small companies use their products..... so take a look from time to time under cups and plates, you never know where you will find it.

Not for sale.
Look at what I saw at "Hå Gamle Prestegård", an art and culture centre south of Stavanger.
The top silver bit, is what is part of our National Costume. The mixture of new and old is great, and the price is unknown, since "the bag" was not for sale. Made by Marianne Moe.
I am off to a theatre play tonight.
Enjoy your evening too.

Go home.... ??
Most office people work from 08:00 until 16:00, so NOW it is time to GO HOME and enjoy the weekend!
This is a building from the 1970´s. And what I call typical for that period.....
Best thing is probably that it is very central and easy to reach by public transport.
Are you working at the weekends?
Here we have a huge debate as to whether or not the shops should be open on Sundays.
Well, we have to "try" trust the politicians that we voted for, and wait to see if there will be changes or not.

What would I miss?
What would I miss about Stavanger?
The answer is the places where it is possible to go for walks.
The open spaces, the small lakes and paths around the woodland areas.
Also the coastline, the beaches, the north sea and the fjords.
No matter what the season, or, what the weather is like, there are places like this
around the lake Mosvannet where you can walk and enjoy the beauty....
If you want to see what other people will miss about their cities. take a look HERE.
