King Harald and the guests who had been invited to the art museum got to see some of Edvard Munch's famous paintings as well as some really arty cars.

The two women were busy reading about the artist who created the art on the BMW.

The museum had 7 of the 17 cars that have been decorated by artist from all continents.

And who was Mr. Sevland and lots of other people waiting for??

King Harald, who you can see arriving in front of Rogaland Kunstmuseum.

He is related to many other Royals in several Europeen countries.

There were plenty of police and security people around, and some very shiny cars.

This is probably the most busy man in Stavanger this week!

I used the opportunity to take a photo when he was interviewed by our national radio station.

His name is Leif Johan Sevland, and he is now director of the ONS.

There will be more than 50.000 visitors at this famous event, the world's leading meeting place for the energy industry.

Since 1995 until last year he was the Mayor of our city, for the Conservative Party.

He is a friendly outgoing person and well known here in the region, as well as many other places in Norway as well as abroad.

We have had a beautiful and sunny day, but colder than the last few days.

on around the harbor the days to come.

Two students from Copenhagen, Morten and Don have arrived in Stavanger.

Nice to hear the Danish language again, and I have to say they had a good sense of humor too.

When I asked about the name DON, which to me is not very Danish, he told me that his mum liked Don Johnsen in Miami Vice, so that is why!:) So simple, why did I not think of that myself?

Anyway, the physiotherapist to be, and the engineer to be, are heading back to Denmark with a stop in Skagen before Copenhagen. They had been visiting Bergen and the Shetland Islands (Cheaper Wisky there than in Norway they told me:) And I nearly forgot to mention that they stopped on the island Anholt as well.

YES, I have been on a boat trip.

"FJORDSTEAM" 2012 is taking place in Stavanger this weekend.

So many nice old boats around the harbor. People can go onboard and look around, some boats are even taking passengers out for trips.

We have had a windy but very nice and sunny day!

The rest of the weekend is going to be nice too.

More student housings are being built??

There were 6000 students from abroad who applied for taking a masters degree at our university. Only 330 students were lucky to study here, for free.

Of course housing and living costs money.

Anyway, they are quite international, with most coming from China, Iran, Russia, France and Germany.

This week they have all sorts of information and a week to get to know each other. Some might be lucky to live in one of the small flats here ( seen on today`s image).

This is very close to the campus area.

I have to come back to you on how many students there are in total in Stavanger.

"Guten Morgen " to Maxi, Anselm and Julian.

They were from Bavaria, (near Munich.) in southern Germany.

No, I did not use my very rusty German, we used English.

They had arrived from Kristiansand yesterday, and had plans to go up to Pulpit Rock.

We had more rain this afternoon/evening, but it will be "summer" for a few days from Friday...

On my way to work, really early in the morning I can sometimes see the landscape just like this.

Next Saturday this guy will get married.

Today his friends had made sure that he has some lasting memories from his life as a "bachelor"! :)

He had several tasks, like reading some sort of a romantic poem from this litter bin...

We have had a beautiful day!

Here you see an area close to Hafrsfjord.

We have plenty of RAIN.

And this summer has been the worst in 15 years, with low temperatures the last 3 months and RAIN - RAIN - RAIN.

Tourists might find it exotic up to a certain point, but believe me we who live here are sometimes desperate to go somewhere without woolen clothes and boots.

On the other hand, when the sunshine is here, even for just a few hours we are soooo happy, and rush out full of energy!:)

Yes, I know that Holland and England have had much of the same summer. Perhaps many other countries? How do you cope?

NUMBERS is this months theme for the CDP community.

I went back to a place I remember I stopped to take a look at a number combined with a piece of art. I don`t know who have made it, nor where it is made, but since I first saw it, about a year back, I have liked it.
