FOOTBALL

Football.
It sounded and looked like the football fever was high in town yesterday evening.

Football fans were out watching the game on big screens.
Here is a glimpse from outside one of the pubs near the harbour area in town.

So who will win the championship this year?

Sunday 17 June 2018

Sunny evening.

It turned out to be a great day.
Sunny evening and with plenty of boats along the guest harbour.

Rain again.

Time to close the windows, and put the wellies on.
Plenty of rain inthe days to come.

Starbucks.

This is an image from the first Starbucks that opened in Stavanger.
It is actually inside what used to be a bank.
It is very central, close to the harbour, the old market place as well as the cathedral.

Happy weekend!

From Germany.

This is Emma, the little dog, and the couple she lives a happy life together with.
They are from Wuppertal in Germany.
The day that I met them, they had been staying near the beach for the night and had breakfast when I was starting the morning  walk with our dog. We had a chat and I was told that they had already been to the Pulpit Rock and then off to take a look at Stavanger city before heading further north on the west coast.
Nice meeting you, and I will always remember the famous thing you told me about your hometown.

A tall building in Pedersgatå / Pedersgaten.

Sunday 10 June 2018

Green city ?

I think Stavanger is environmentally aware and we have plenty of places to put glass, paper, plastic etc. to be recycled.
At the weekends there are more people just throwing things around in the city centre, and some people have the job of tidying up on Sunday mornings after lazy, and sometimes drunk people, who
have been out partying

Friday 8 June 2018

Looking up.

Looking up, I noticed a flat I had never seen before.

The people living there must have a great view over the city centre.

Thursday 7 June 2018

Great view and tasty food.

A nice place for lunch down at the harbour area.
Great view and tasty food.

Wednesday 6 June 2018

Fire alarm.

The fire alarm went off.
Just a test.
People working for the council had to go out and wait until it was ok to go back to work.

Hop On Hop Off.

Hop On - Hop Off in Stavanger.
As a tourist this might be smart.
( I have used one in Berlin, and that was a good way to explore the city.)

Saturday 2 June 2018

The police.

The police also patrol out on the water.
Looks like a good job to have in the current weather.
