From Germany.

This is Emma, the little dog, and the couple she lives a happy life together with.
They are from Wuppertal in Germany.
The day that I met them, they had been staying near the beach for the night and had breakfast when I was starting the morning  walk with our dog. We had a chat and I was told that they had already been to the Pulpit Rock and then off to take a look at Stavanger city before heading further north on the west coast.
Nice meeting you, and I will always remember the famous thing you told me about your hometown.

South of Stavanger.

Out walking on the beach, a side path leads to a permanent camping/holiday area, probably a farmers property.
Perhaps a place people go to for the weekend ?
A quiet place, only 30 minutes by car south of the city centre.
Some sort of a caravan club, with common areas. Some had built small cottages as an extension.

BUNAD.

Today is the Constitution Day here in Norway.
A day to celebrate, perhaps differently, but very often with family and friends.
South of Stavanger I met these three beautiful teenage girls from Sandnes and Verdalen.
They are wearing BUNAD, our National Costume.
The style of bunad's is regional, these are local Rogaland bunad's.

Enjoy the sunny day!

Three brothers.

Three brothers running straight in to the North Sea.
They were fit, very athletic and did not hesitate to run.
Their mum and sister were watching just like me.
Impressive, but it's still too COLD for most people.

Sunny afternoon and so nice to feel a bit of warmth.

GOD HELG / HAPPY WEEKEND!

Poor visibility.

Afternoon.
Stuck in a queue, and looking out the car window over to runway 36
Poor visibility and snow in the air.

Now 3 hours later the landscape is covered in snow, again.
I am longing for spring today.

Norwegian food.

Today I had an interesting chat with one of the guys promoting and selling sea products outside a local shop. Products from a small company at Lista ( south Norway.) They were heading north towards the Stavanger area. He told me that they wanted to buy more cars and expand the sale even out of Norway.

I heard about the idea... from farm to fork, www.detnorskemaltid.no  and yes; it is based in Stavanger and have been doing so since 2008.

Good luck!
Nice to meet some enthusiasts!

Cancer research

(Saturday's posting, just a bit late.)

Landscape.... as you see it south of Stavanger.
The pink and blue  is a reminder of cancer research, that farmers support.
Probably a cause that many of us will get in touch with one way or the other.

A bit of snow.

A bit of snow last night.
So today there were paw prints to see on the walk in the woods.

X-mas is over.

Christmas is over.

Here is a glimpse of the plastic tree at the airport, ready to be put away for the next 11 months.
