Roots are important.

Just to show you an image of how important ROOTS can be in life.

An image taken at the Sandnes area on one of my many walks.

I am not sporty.... just try to keep walking, no matter what the days are like.

Suddenly snow this morning.

I was a bit surprised this morning by the amount of snow this late in April.

Sunday walks.

No matter what the weather is like. Sundays are often used for WALKS in the city or out in the countryside like here.
It is probably the same all over the world?

Happiness is found in simple things...

Happiness is found in simple things...

Like here out in the woods, coffee and chocolate together with a very good friend.

Simple joy in life!

We got a bit of snow yesterday when we were out on our weekly "walk & talk".

KARI & JON.

I sometimes see people and think, wow, they really suit each other.
And several times this week I have met KARI and JON out walking their dog.

Of course I noticed Kari's bright pink PUSSYHAT, so she got some sort of "an extra star" from me.
She has just finished knitting number five!
The https://www.pussyhatproject.com tells more about the project.
I am lucky to have some American friends who took part, and even went on the marches too.

Here in Norway, Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim held marches, as many other cities did around the world. If there had been one here in Stavanger I would have been there!

Kari and Jon are a sporty couple. If you see a pink Pussyhat out in the fjords, it might be Kari out swimming. If you see Jon on land taking photos, - it is definitely them.
Since May last year she has had her own project, taking an outdoor swim once a week, and believe me it is pretty COLD now.
Well done, Kari!

It is HAPPY FRIDAY, so enjoy the weekend everyone!

Just a bit of light.

Sometimes a hole in the clouds and a bit of sunshine can make a big difference!

The LADIES from TJELTA.

The LADIES from TJELTA,
is a group of women who meet up once a week, for a nice walk together. (Tjelta turgruppe.)

TJELTA is an area in Sola, about 20 minutes south of Stavanger city centre.

The group had driven a bit further south for this weeks walk.

Here they enjoyed their lunches at the bridge, MIDGARDSORM, also seen in the last two postings.

In the winter, when it is cold and perhaps with snow and rain, they have the possibility to use a nice sports/club house where they have lunch.

Sporty Ladies!

(Hope you will explore lots of nice places, and don't forget the Botanical Garden at Ullandhaug :)

Sunny morning.

Sunny morning.
Same bridge, MIDGARDSORMEN, seen also in yesterdays posting.

The bridge MIDGARDSORMEN.

I went for a walk this beautiful SUNNY morning, over the bridge Midgardsormen.
In Norse mythology the "Midgardsorm" is famous.

It is situated about 30 minutes by car south of Stavanger,
and then it is a short walk from the parking place.

There are picnic areas on both sides of the bridge.
The grand opening of the bridge took place earlier this month.

It is built, thanks to companies and individuals who have paid "shares" to have the bridge built.
Names are put up on one side of the bridge.

(STAVANGER DAILY PHOTO is also on FACEBOOK.)

Out for a walk.

We were both out for a walk.

I have never seen a fluffy creature like this before.
What was it?

Someone told me that it is a caterpillar.....
Perhaps that is right?
Just a bit strange now when it is so cold.

Keep warm and enjoy the weekend!

Good places to visit.

These are definitely the NUMBER ONE  and TWO places to go as a tourist in and around Stavanger.
PULPIT ROCK and LYSEFJORD
I recommend good shoes and a day when the weather is ok.
More images, and info. you can find under this image on my blog.
