The TROLL PENIS Rock.

I had never heard about the TROLL PENIS rock, until the paper wrote about it after someone somehow managed to get it down! Even international papers wrote about TROLLPIKKEN as it is also named.
Now when it is back on, more and more people are taking the walk up in the mountains to see it, and perhaps to have their photo taken when they are climbing on it.

If you are in the area, head south of Stavanger, and it is close to Egersund.
I recommend good waterproofed shoes, and to start early.
Nice walk when the wheater is good.

Up in the mountains.

Up in the mountains yesterday.
First came the big moose, closely followed by this "little" one.
There are lots of traffic signs around warning about moose, but it is still rare to see them.

A view from Vålandstårnet.

A view down to the city centre of Stavanger, taken from VÅLANDSTÅRNET (Yesterdays posting).
It includes the fjords and mountains a bit further out.

Wind energy.

From the window up in the plane, not that far from the airport, I suddenly saw something I have not seen before.

Well, I have seen it in the newspapers, but I can´t say that I had read more than the heading.

So, I googled and found out that there are things happening nearby that are quite impressive. Take a look at this: http://vindenergi.no/english

(This is Høg-Jæren Energipark.)

Perhaps it is common in many other countries?

Sign reading.

I guess it is possible to understand this sign without knowing any Norwegian.

Out on the fjord.

I am pleased I do not have to use a ferry or any other type of boat.
We had stormy weather last night and early this morning.
A bit of snow earlier, but rain again this afternoon/evening.

Good to be inside!

Still waiting for a white Christmas....

Out walking south of Stavanger today, was just fresh, with a bit of frost, but no wind and rain.
We have snow up in the mountains, but so far not here out on the coast.
The weather forecast is saying "full storm overnight"....
Anyway, hope you are having a good Christmas time wherever you are.

Turning around.

Turning 180 degrees from where I took yesterdays image, I saw this.

Good places to visit.

These are definitely the NUMBER ONE  and TWO places to go as a tourist in and around Stavanger.
PULPIT ROCK and LYSEFJORD
I recommend good shoes and a day when the weather is ok.
More images, and info. you can find under this image on my blog.

Dalsnuten.

Today I have been 324 m. above sea level, on a top of a mountain named DALSNUTEN.
This is a sporty family from Sandnes, with their cute dog.
The view behind them is Stavanger, but from the top you can see far away, and I think it has an absolutely fantastic view, so I strongly recommend doing this walk.
Many people were there today, and some very sporty people were even jogging their way up!

Snow up in the mountains.

It is getting colder now, and we have snow up in the mountains.
