Kim Larsen

Kim Larsen is a Danish rock musician who, at the age of 72 , will give a concert in Stavanger next year. He is a legend in Scandinavia and obviously still has a huge following.

The banners and adverts are already out, like here at the ongoing roadworks at Madlaveien and the motorway.

Roadwork!

I feel sorry for the people who have to LIVE here when this huge roadwork is going on.

TASTA.

Stavanger is well known for roadworks!
At the moment I have to say I feel sorry for the people living at TASTA.
So much noise and air pollution!

Road work

I hope he managed to finish the important (and noisy) work he was doing yesterday.

RYFAST

A HUGE road project is going on, and will hopefully be finished in 2019.
The project is to both reduce the traffic through Stavanger centre, and to provide a better connection between the islands and the other side of the fjord. The longest subsea tunnel will be 14.3km.

Roadwork.

There is so much roadwork going on in Stavanger at the moment, that some of the workers have to live on the site in temporary housing.

The tunnel at Auglend.

Yesterday afternoon there was yet another accident in the tunnel at Auglend.
Many people were stuck in a queue for quite some time!
A trailer collided with the tunnel roof.
This image is taken late in the evening, when they were fixing the damage.
Luckily there was no severe damage to people or cars.

It is amazing how much roadwork there is in and around Stavanger.
As you see here,  they are digging up the road near the harbor again.

Tonight I am off to see the film "Kon -Tiki" and to take a drink or two in town.

Roadworks in the winter.

Roadwork ....... so many places in and around Stavanger.

For many months now, this road has been a bumpy ride for cars, busses and bikes.

Snow and rain did not help! Several car accidents occurred and it has not been well lit.

Well, it has been a luxury to drive on the new surface, and really quiet now when the work stopped for the Easter Holiday.

It takes time, and it looks promising and will be much better to have one more lane when it is ready. Apparently the new center lane will be a bi-directional bus lane, running in different directions based on the time of day and the traffic load.
