POKÉMON

Last Saturday Pokémon GO was launched in Norway.
The game is obviously keeping people busy.
They can be seen wondering all over the city these days.

Back to school for the pupils and teachers.
I hope it is nice and warm inside.
Outside we have (plenty of) RAIN, and it is getting colder.

On a grey and cold day, like today, it is nice to see some bright colors like this house near the park and little lake in the city centre.
(At this moment it has started SNOWING again:)

The snow and ice are now melting.
And we have even had a few hours with sunshine around lunch time.
The white buildings on the other side of the lake is the college, that is situated next to our Cathedral.

"Breiavatnet" is the name of the lake where I have posted photos from over the last few days. And today you can see some of the teenage pupils from the nearby school who are out for a break in the fresh air out on the icy lake.
The city chief for roads, parks and sports facilities is the one who takes the final decision if a lake should be declared open to the public or not, after the thickness of the ice has been measured and investigated.
This lake has a 26 cm thick layer of ice (as measured today), according to the councils webpage.
But there are unsafe areas near some of the edges, so people are only allowed to go just where it is marked as safe.

Yesterdays photo with the heart was part of this decorated tree. There is a light inside and at night it looks even more pretty. This is our city park. The ice on the water is now thick enough so it has been declared safe for walking and skating on. . This photo was taken last Thursday.

This is an area; Kiellandshagen, around the little lake "Breiavatnet". The art at the front of the photograph was made by Marit Aanestad in 1998. It changes due to the weather and the light. I love the reflections in the water!;-)
This is a very central place, close to the market, the Cathedral, bus and railway station, and some hotels. There are swans and birds, as well as this nice fountain.
In the winter there can be snow on top of ice on parts of the lake, and sometimes thick ice, safe enough for people to cross over the lake.
