Today I will not show you another image of Stavanger on a rainy day!
I`ll invite you to take a good look at these pictures taken by photographers who has been working or perhaps still are at Stavanger Aftenblad. (Our biggest daily local newspaper, where this exhibition is now.)
Anyway, it shows what the market place looked like before it ended up being such an empty place most of the time.
If you look at the photo in the middle at the bottom, you might see someone famous.
I hope our market place will turn in to something nice, and I feel sorry for students who came up with several good ideas, and still don`t know if the ideas will end up in something positive.
It is probably the politicians and the money that will give some sort of a result. Time will tell.

We have never had so many cruise ships arriving in Stavanger before.
Well, this is one leaving.
Do you see the people at the top?
I have only been on a 3 days cruise from Oslo to Kiel (Germany)
Have you tried a cruise holiday? If yes, where did you go??
Click on "cruise ships" after labels, and you will see many more.

This used to be a little kiosk, and there used to be many kiosks like this around town. Kiosks have pretty much all disappeared as they could not compete with the big shops.
Now this one is just a canvas for graffiti and stands in an area where taxi drivers often park while waiting for jobs.
I see that in many other countries, little kiosks like this manage to survive.

Do you see the lady with the hat?
She asked me if I knew were she could buy a Pin with a Norwegian symbol. I work part time at the airport, and just a few minutes later 3 other Ladies came and asked the same question.
Unfortunately I could not help, but I thought about the blog, and why not take a picture of these 4 friends together. Well, that was ok with them, but what I did not realize was that they were in a group of 17 people (from all over the USA.) So there I was with my little camera and a group in front of me.... I wish I could had time to hear from more of your trip. But I know that you were on your way to Stockholm, via Oslo, and will continue to Finland before heading back to the States.
The woman (in red) next to the lady with the hat, had even been a student at "Fana Folkehøgskole", a bording school outside Bergen, and they had been visiting a similar school out at Jæren, including a visit to the author Arne Garborgs summerhouse. You will definitely have a lot of memories with you, including from Denmark, where you were before coming to Norway.
Have a nice time!!
(PS. Yes I found out about "Road Scholar" http://www.roadscholar.org/)
And I did post your postcards:)

They were still on strike these 3 women, Grete, Hilde and Marit, outside the kindergarden where they work.
Tomorrow morning they will be back at work, like lot's of other people working for the council. THE STRIKE IS OVER for them, but lots of other people are still on strike,-like the security people at the airports!!
They got a good result, and I guess that not only they are happy, but all of the parents who have struggled to cope with work and looking after their children who could not go to school etc.

This old warplane has been at the bottom of Hafrsfjord for 70 years, and was brought to the surface near Sola Air Museum over the weekend.
Some of my photographs are now in both a local and a National newspaper.
Take a look at the links.

I heard music after I parked the car.... Off I went to find out what was going on.
Yesterdays photo indicated, as was mentioned, the christening of a ship.
Sadly, the ceremony had "just" finished when I got there.
Follow this link and you will find out more about the ship, "TROMS SIRIUS."
The big cruise ship COSTA FORTUNA (in the background), looked smaller than usual.
