Stavanger is the fourth biggest city in Norway. It is situated on the southwest coast. My aim is to try to capture something from every day, from the area nearby too, and when I am not at home I will still try to put up a photo from my archive. Welcome back for another look.

Very interesting what the Battle of Hafrsfjord. The bus made from? This great and very nice place indeed. A hug from Spain
Best regards from Paris,

Heyrði þú í Hafrsfirði, Did you hear in Hafrsfjord
hvé hizug barðisk how hard they fought
konungr enn kynstóri the high born king
við Kjötva enn auðlagða; against Kjotve the Rich.
knerrir kómu austan, ships came from the east
kapps of lystir, craving battle,
með gínöndum höfðum with gaping heads
ok gröfnum tinglum. and prows sculpted.
:-)
Looks an awful lot like Clontarf Bay in Dublin, a very important place in Irish history. If I remember well, the last Viking raiders were defeated there. Dublin is a viking name, by the way, Dubh Lynn.
Is the building on the jetty protecting something?
I am wondering what is being protected with the roof at the end of the jetty. Great shot from a bus. Diane
An impressive view...
A beautiful view!
What welcoming sight for people. Looks as if fairy-tales can happen there every moment.
What beautiful scenery. :) Of course, all of Norway is beautiful scenery. :)
Lovely coastal views along your bus route Gunn , is the airport near the coast?
