Gingerbread houses 2016

The annual event with the city made out of gingerbread, can be seen at The Culturehouse.
This looked like it was made by an architect with eyes for details. Very well done!!
The label said: The house at Våland, made
by Elin Lundegård from Hundvåg.

Gingerbread buildings.

Just like yesterdays posting, our biggest newspaper also have an annual exhibition with gingerbread houses. This year it is at the Culture House.

So much creative work have been put in to it. As you see,
some international landmarks have also been included.

It is well worth visiting!

The Gingerbread Houses.

It is over now, - the city full of Gingerbread Houses.
Lots of work had been put in to the display in the big hallway at Stavanger Aftenblad.
On the blog, you can see more images from previous years, by clicking on the labels under the text.

It is cold and slippery outside. I prefer a quiet afternoon inside with my tea and books...
Lazy Sunday is good:)

I hope all of you have a nice Christmas Holiday!
GOD JUL / MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Saturday, 26 November 2011

This is one of many, very nice gingerbread buildings that have arrived at the annual exhibition at our biggest newspaper here in Stavanger.

(Take a look at last years creative houses in my archive, from December 2010.)

I had a trip in to the city centre this afternoon.
Still very windy and lots of rain.
Yesterday the people and the helicopter trying to put up the Christmas tree on top of the city bridge, had to give up the work because of the strong wind.

Another yummy gingerbread house...

Sunday, 19 December 2010

Our big local newspaper, Stavanger Aftenblad, has continued their big collection/exhibition of gingerbread houses made this year by children & adults, both privately and through schools.
Unfortately, a few of the photos that I took with the small camera did not turn out quite as I wanted, so I have to say sorry to the Syrian family and the lady from Ormøy who I had wanted to show photos of.

I have found out that the newspaper/media house, (where the gingerbread houses are on display), will give 200 Norwegian kroner for each house they have received for the exhibition, to the Salvation Army. That will be 34.200 Norwegian kroner
The first prize winner will receive a voucher for 2000 kroner, 2. prize is a voucher for 1000 kroner and 3. prize is a voucher for 500 kroner. (To Vogon; I have sent an e-mail to the newspaper asking your previous question, so I will let you know, hopefully after the weekend.)

Todays house I thought was quite sweet and cute....
I know a little "princess" that probably would have loved to have this in her house...

This is the house I voted for... ( quite a few more could have got my vote too.)
I guess the creator of the most popular house will receive a prize.
Anyway, so many individuals, families, friends, colleges, kindergartens, etc. have made ginger bread buildings and then delivered them to the newspaper/media house where they are now on display.

I promised you a week back that I should show you more from what Yomira (from Peru) was looking at. Well, here it is: Our "new town" in Stavanger with 171 houses etc. made in gingerbread and colorfully decorated by people from Stavanger and nearby places. It is an annual event by our biggest regional newspaper, "Stavanger Aftenblad", and the exhibition is open to the public. It is amazing to see the creativity and skills that goes into making these. One of Yomira's favorite buildings was this church at the top.
