Norways Liberation Day

It is our Liberation Day today.
Actually it is 70 years today, since the war was over and Norway was free again .
Flags are up, and the veterans have received their medals, some presented by the king, some by politicians and some given out by different majors.

The news had interviews with people who were in the navy, and those who came back suffering from trauma and perhaps struggled for many many years to talk about what they had been through.

Todays image is a tribute to all of those who actually did a tremendous job in the navy.

It is quite a day to mark. This will probably be one of the last major commemorations involving veterans of the war.

Every country seems to have another day to celebrate the liberation. Here it was May 5th, Russia was yesterday.

So many different dates for the same thing. Great picture, by the way!

Gunn, I like your choice of the cap as a symbol for your tribute.
