Not that I have seen or met any famous chess players, but there have been several in town for the tournament. Magnus Carlsen (on the poster) is one of them. The people playing chess at the airport were tourists on their way back to Poland.

When I was still in kindergarten we had a twin couple, a girl and a boy that played chess in my group. But they never became World Champions!

I like to see players with geant schess
When I was about 11 or 12, I played a friend of mine chess during a school holiday. We played "double or quits".. after winning game after game, I felt sorry for my friend, so I tried to let him win... best I managed was a draw... the next game he won....
Today I am kicking myself, I could do with all the money he would have owed me :)
Am I a great chess player? No, I am not very good, I was just better than my friend.. I do not play very often these days, but about 8 years ago, I was beaten by a 7 or 8 year old. Embarrassing!
