The Geo Park, is a popular place for kids and today also our dog.
It is situated just outside The Oil Museum, near the harbour.

AND it is FREE.

IT is a colourful and a fun place.

If you have been following this blog, you might remember local politicians saying that they wanted to tidy up the area "Geo Parken" outside the Norwegian Petroleum museum.....

Well, to me it does not seem like much has changed, and it still looks as colorful as ever.

Actually, I find things here that I like. To me it is ok to see this kind of art certain places. But I feel sorry for people, families and businesses who get their property painted without their permission.

Yesterdays photo shows that it all comes down to "fantasy and creativity, or just plain facts."

I guess I would never have seen most of the things you mentioned until I read your comments and had another look. Thanks everyone!:)

I don`t know the Norwegian word for these round bright plastic balls, nor do I know the English word, but I guess they are used out in the sea. I guess I can ask my husband, before he falls asleep?

Hmmm. he thinks that they might be buoys? But he is not sure!

Soon all of the "allowed" graffiti will be cleaned away. We are heading towards election time here, and some of the politicians are more than happy to suddenly involve themselves in anything that they think will earn them some "browny points". The future of the geo park is one of the hot topics here, and of course, there are plenty of browny points for the taking.

Some people have to work, even when it is Easter Holiday.

This young man, ØRJAN MESSMER, who works for the council, was out collecting rubbish from bins as well as from areas where some people just dump cigarettes, bear bottles, papers etc.

Well done, Ørjan!
