Norway is a long way behind Denmark when it comes to all the bakeries, the choices and opening hours ...... Especially on SUNDAYS !

But remember, we have BRUSTADBUA, where you can get freshly made bread,  pastries etc.

"Brustadbua" is a shop and bakery that is very popular and busy at the weekends, especially on a Sunday, when it is one of the few shops that is open where you can buy food, including in this one, fresh bread and pastries.

"Brustadbua" is a term for food stores that can open on a Sunday. It is based on the name of the politician who opened the way for Sunday opening, "Sylvia Brustad". The area of a shop has to be a maximum of 100 square metres in order to open on a Sunday, so these shops, often have narrow walkways between the shelves, allowing them to pack in as much stock as possible, but making shopping quite hectic.
