From Thailand to Norway.

Po Samansukumal from Bangkok /Thailand spoke with a strong American accent. (He had been studying in the USA.)
He had been to the famous pulpit rock yesterday, and had been lucky with the weather.
He had not seen anything else of the area..... just heading for the famous mountain.
Before Stavanger he had made a stop on Iceland.

I am so impressed about ALL these sporty people who aim for Pulpit Rock!

Well, I guess there are different people, different sizes and grades of fitness.
Po told me that there are certain lists out on internet of places to go and visit, and it was there that he found the things he was after.

You just have to come back and explore more of the region, Po :)

Many Norwegians head to his homeland for warm sunny days, relaxation, and to explore different parts of the country. But so far I have not met that many Thai people who have travelled to Norway just to find a famous mountain.

So where is the place YOU would really like to visit?

I have very little interest in the typical warm tourists spots- here it would be the southern US or the Caribbean. I'd much rather be in cooler climates.

I have heard of that fjord and Pulpit's Rock. I'd love to hike up there!

Nice timing for this post. I am almost finished reading Jo Nesbo's novel, Cockroaches, which has a Norwegian policeman investigating a crime in Thailand. One recurring observation is that Thais know almost nothing about Norway.

I have enjoyed Thailand a few times Gunn, but my fear of flying is getting worse all the time unfortunately. I think these days probably Sydney or maybe Paris (such a long flight from Perth)are the only places I'd 'risk' :) flying to!

I'm always amazed at all the photos of Pulpit Rock I see, but I would NEVER be close to the edge. VERTIGO!!! :-)
The places I most want to visit are Angkor Wat in Cambodia and the Okavango Delta in Botswana.
