Today I saw something beautiful, art made by the late Frida Hansen from Stavanger.
It reminded me of work by William Morris.....
At the moment it is possible to see some of her work at the Rogaland Museum of Fine Arts.
Stavanger is the fourth biggest city in Norway. It is situated on the southwest coast. My aim is to try to capture something from every day, from the area nearby too, and when I am not at home I will still try to put up a photo from my archive. Welcome back for another look.

Beautiful works of textile art, definitely Morris-like. How about the approximate dimensions? It's difficult to figure out the real size...
Textile art is wonderful to behold. Our Twin City museum, the Minneapolis Institute of Art, has a wonderful collection, but, alas, seldom is it exhibited as it should be. These tapestries are lovely.
Lovely soft colours. I wonder what the fabric is?
Some magnificent tapestries!
I must agree with you. Lovely wall hangings!

Superb work
They are wonderrful!
Thanks to introducing me to the works of Frida Hansen. Googled her for more info and am agog at the beauty of her work.
oh, those *are* lovely, and you're right, very "morris-ish." I'll be sure to look up Frida Hansen to see more of her work...
These are rich indeed, and although I appreciate the work of William Morris, these seem to me to have a lot more to them. I am minded more of the tradition of the Sagas rather than the more mundane usefulness of Morris designs. There is magic and myth here.
Thanks for the visit, and the compliments btw. .-)
