Touring Europe.

As most of you know, we have some very narrow roads here in Norway.
This is the biggest RV I have seen this summer. The Canadian couple who owned it had the car towed behind it. Inside they had a boat.... And they were heading to the Stavanger region, so drive carefully if you meet them. It is huge!
PS. I did not tell them about all the roadworks, nor about the fact that Stavanger is the Norwegian city with most roundabouts.
I hope they have a great time and that they will see lots of sunny days too.

Tour des Fjords 2017

Last year the cyclists passed on a sunny day.
Today it was rain and not so many people around watching.
Anyway, this is just a glimpse of todays cycling tournament with 21 nations participating.

Sunday morning.

These three sporty men I met when I was out walking the dog.
They had been cycling all the way from Stavanger. I met them at Midgardsormen. South of Stavanger.
They smiled when I said that was a long way, but I did not tell them that I have only been cycling to Sandnes! (Well, I have rented bicycles in Denmark, Italy and Japan as a tourist)
Anyway, they are members of a cycle club, based on friends who train together.
The spirit was good, they had had their sports drinks, and are now probably back in Stavanger.
If you know them, please tell them that you have seen them on the blog.

Tour des Fjords 2016

Yesterday afternoon I got a glimpse of Tour des Fjords.
It is an annual bicycle race between the cities Bergen and Stavanger,
here on the western part of Norway.
What a number of motorbikes, (some with camera people!!), police, ambulances, cars with bicycles on the roofs, helicopter flying low, and all the people watching along the route. It is a huge event that goes over several days. Do take a look at: www.tourdesfjords.no
The weather was perfect!
Alexander Kristoff (from Stavanger) won, as he also did in 2014.
Last year it was Marco Haller (from Austria) who won.
They are both representing Team Kathusha from Russia.

Nordsjørittet 2016

Nordsjørittet 2016 or in English, THE North Sea Cycle Race is a BIG ANNUAL EVENT and took place yesterday.
I guess there must be quite a few people who feel muscle pain and a sore bum today!
There must have been more than 10.000 people participating.
It is a mountain bike race "for most people", and you can choose to do 45 km. or 91km.
You can also ride without time recording.
Look at these two sporty women!
Impressive!

Nina's place?

If this is Nina's bike outside her place, I hope she will be careful using it. Many roads are icy.
Some of us are going back to work today.... but it is quieter now, unless you work at a place with one of the big SALES starting today. It is also the day to change that "not so perfect Christmas present".
Have a nice day wherever you are.
