This is the only adder I have seen this year, and I am out walking every day....
(In Norwegian we call it Hoggorm or Huggorm.)

I would be happy to NOT come across adders while out for a walk, and I am sure the adder feels the same way, but it does make for a handsome photo.
Quite a critter. In my province, most snakes are non venomous, though we do have some rattlers in isolated pockets.
