Postman Einar at work.
We have post delivered once a day, 6 days a week.
In the centre we have the main post office, most other places we now have to visit a petrol station, a shop, kiosk or even video shop to post parcels and pick up packages etc.
Big changes over the last few years as the smaller post offices have been closed down.

I like these postal boxes. I live quite far out in the country and my mail lady drives a pick up truck for her daily delivery.

He looks like a friendly chap. At least he's been able to keep a smile!

We have a red version of those Post boxes on our house in Connecticut. I have always liked them.

This year we have to move the postbox from nearby a door to nearby the street. Service is changing everywhere...

To Jørgen: That is exactly what you see in this photo.
Houses here used to have letter boxes close to their front doors.
Now many have been forced to relocate them in common places like this.

Small offices are closing down here too, but the service don't improve from its very low quality levels.

We had an article just yesterday that we may be losing many post offices across the US. In my city there are a few places where the mail delivery is in door slots but most by boxes at the street.

Wish our postie had a smile like that. We get grumpy and mail tossed somewhere near the building

Our postal service is struggling, they talk of dropping it to 5 days a week.
I like your friendly looking carrier. I haven't seen boxes like that.

Einar looks cheerful enough and well wrapped up too. Here in England we too have had big changes in local postal service with many post offices closed leaving the remaining ones in towns and cities with often long queues.
