Once or twice every year I can't resist choosing "fish & chips" from the menu, but so far it has never ever been anything quite like the real thing that you get in the UK.

Ah, but you can get pretty awful f and c in the UK. As for most popular dishes, you need to know where to go.

This looks really nice, not sure about the continental idea of mayo, but..
In truth here in the UK for every place that does really good fish and chips perhaps 3 places do not do it well at all!

Somehow your fish and chips doesn't quite look like the australian version - far more delicate, the fish has an artistic shape, the newspaper fold looks very chic, the mayo is well presented... in Australia it would all be wrapped in a large amount of greyish paper, no frills... but delicious. Hope yours was nice too!
