Here they come...
One more shot from yesterday`s celebrating of "Woman`s Day" in the center of Stavanger
Did you celebrate?
(My biggest surprise was in Russia, a few years back, where a complete stranger came up and gave us women a rose each..... (on International Woman`s Day)
Neither of us had seen anything like it in Norway! We were in Russia to visit schools and not even aware of WHAT day it was. )

I did celebrate. I went to a luncheon for a local charity called "The Fund for Women and Girls" that makes grants targeting things like domestic violence, women's health, education, self-sufficiency, and other things.
I read in the papers that a group of 30 women celebrated the day by protesting bare breasted against anti-abortionists in Barcelona. And it was cold! Obviously, this being Spain, photos in every single newspaper, nationwide!
Hi Gunn,
i don't celebrate!
Greetinbgs from Berlin
I brought my wife a fresh bouquet of Spring flowers in a vase! I needed the points... ha!
Very nice night shot! Unfortunately, we don't celebrate this in the U.S.
Here the holiday is too much politicized for my taste.
Very beautiful and nice !!
There are some villages where men make the women,s works ath that day! They wear women,s clothes and take care about cooking, washing etc.
In Germany they cut off men's ties!!!
In former Eastern block this Day was special, thats why You got a flower. At least in Romania 1st March is celebrated as Martzishor Day, when men give little colourful ornaments to every women they know.
I was not aware of it. We have two speacial days/celebrations for women though: April 21 and December 22.
Amazing that this day is such a big event overseas and not at all mentioned here in the States.
A march in the UK. Lots of activities that unfortunately I couldn't get to as I am travelling at present.
Interesting comparing notes around the world. Maybe we should do a special post next year.
it's not that publicize and active around here i think.
but it's interesting to see that other countries celebrated this event with such meaning. ^0^
