Firstly this is not a common way to get rid of the snow. Most snow is just left to melt by itself...
But this company has been hired in to do the job around the Cathedral, because a film crew has been waiting to start making a film based on the most famous robbery that happened in Stavanger and Norway! (Next to where I took this shot... ) It is important that the area around the Cathedral looks close to how it was at the time of the robbery.
So there will be filming going on for several weeks to come.

Interesting but sad to read about the death of a policeman. Thanks again for your visits to Whitby and York.

Ever since I watched a movie being made in Houston many years ago, I've been fascinated at the lengths a production company will go to simulate reality!

Maybe you'll be able to get some photos as the filming gets underway?

Just didn't see Stavanger as the theater of such a violent confrontation with robbers armed with assault rifles... It's a good thing they are all in prison now.
Now I am curious to know something more about this movie.

I guess they'll need a few good-looking "extras" - maybe they'll give you a part in their robbery movie! At a minimum, I think we'll see some photos of their filming on your blog...
