Saturday afternoon in one of the narrow little roads in the city centre.

As you can see we have got some decorations and lights up. The light issue has been discussed for weeks, on local TV and in the newspapers. Those who have the responsibility for arrangements and decorating in the centre have struggled to get the money, 400.000 Norwegian kroner that was necessary to cover the costs. But now that struggle is history. Now there is a competition to find the best decorated window. I will "keep walking" and take a proper look....

I guess the holiday season is busting out all over...we went to the mall today and Santa was there, along with a variety of other holiday decorations. It seems a little nutty to me...but I'm considered an old "Grumpa"!

I agree with Jacob, but people enjoy this and usually is a good time for taking pictures.

I watched "O' Horten" a 2007 Norwegian film. Funny but a bit slow, lot of modern trains and strange characters in a lot of snow...

Ah I disagree with the Floridian and Italian gents. I happen to love Advent and Christmas. This is a very nice shot, very atmospheric... but where is the snow? Shouldn't there at least be a dusting of it by now?

The street seems like an nice blend of old and new, and it's a lovely time to take photos when the lights are just begining to glow. I enjoy looking at other people doing Christmas shopping, though not so much actually doing it myself!

Is the snow late for Stavanger? It looks as though it is getting cold, but no snow.
