It has become trendy to use "Fretex", a branch of Salvation Army.... for many more than just those who once HAD TO use their shops.Today young and old find furniture, and I have seen what paint and a professional make over can do. Anyway, today I took the car to do some shopping, and later took a look in Fretex. This photo shows a detail from a decorated wooden chest.
Who was Anna, and what type of belongings did she keep in her chest? Why has it ended up at this place??

She was, I think, the queen of Siam. Or maybe Miami? I don't recall so good.
She was, however, quite queenly and thus put all her treasures in her chest.

This is a super composition. You found a treasure and made a treasure out of it.
That trunk makes me think of the many gorgeous immigrant trucks at the Vesterheim Museum in Decorah, Iowa. The Norwegians took their belongings with them on big ships to sail to America . . .

The calligraphy, as well as the old lock, is beautiful...makes me wonder what was inside, too :)
The detail of this chest is so nice. Love the example of writing and the old lock. Who was Anna... Who knows!
Maybe it was her wedding chest with all of the treasures she had made for her new life as a married woman tucked away in there.
I am sure we could write stories and stories about this photo!
