From Germany.

This is Emma, the little dog, and the couple she lives a happy life together with.
They are from Wuppertal in Germany.
The day that I met them, they had been staying near the beach for the night and had breakfast when I was starting the morning  walk with our dog. We had a chat and I was told that they had already been to the Pulpit Rock and then off to take a look at Stavanger city before heading further north on the west coast.
Nice meeting you, and I will always remember the famous thing you told me about your hometown.

Beach life

This is Elisabeth Nessler and Bjørn Sola together with their two dogs.
Not a common thing to see, a Norwegian guy wearing a kilt (on yet another snowy day!)
He told me that he actually had five kilts...
So perhaps he will inspire more Norwegian men to dress the same way?
Great to see a man who is man enough to dress just the way HE likes.

Together with a good friend I was out walking on the beach, before celebrating "International Women's Day" with some nice food at the hotel on the beach.

Have a nice evening, everyone!

Hello again.

Hello again.

The Danish nurse and her dog are still living in Norway.
I have a photo of them on the blog from August 2015.
Mollie is now 11 years old, and she was happy to be in town with Louise.

Nice meeting you again.

Thomas and his dog.

Two good friends.
This is THOMAS ASKE BERGE and his cute and energetic Jack Russell Terrier.
Thomas is both an actor and filmmaker. He studied to become an actor in New York.
Now he is busy with film production back in Norway.
Nice meeting you both.

RUSS

If you google "RUSS and NORWAY" you will find several images of people dressed in RED or BLUE clothes, decorated and looking quite strange to people who do not know what is going on.

Young people have started celebrating finishing their 13 years at school, that is the reason.

Some German tourists I met in town thought they were out demonstrating, but they are just having a good time at school and perhaps even more so outside the school.

These two young students Rut Elise and Katarina were out with the dogs.
They will be at the big RUSS event at KONGEPARKEN soon together with Russ from all over the country!

HAVE FUN!

KINOKINO film club.

It is a true pleasure to watch a great film on a big screen together with people who also enjoy it.
That is what happened last night.
We met up in Sandnes, at KINOKINO where the film club show new films every two weeks.
This is a trailer of the film. Take a look if you want to.

EMILIA is a profesional caretaker for dogs (and cats.)
Plenty of walks.

New in Stavanger

They have just moved to Stavanger.
Daddy came first and settled down with his research work and studying.
The rest of the family have not been here for that long, but are all getting to grips with a new life, new culture and not at least our language. Children are often better than adults at picking up a new language. They will be here for some years, and I hope they will enjoy it and explore the region, also with friends and family visiting.

I have to say that I have a soft spot for dogs, especially Labrador Retrievers, and of course I chatted away with the dog in Norwegian. Seriously, I think she understood what I said.

LOUISE and her dog.

Louise (from Århus in Denmark) is relaxing on the bench.
She works as a nurse at the hospital here in Stavanger, and had been on a night shift.
Finally we got a warmish day, and I think her cute little dog Mollie also enjoyed a trip out in the sunshine.

Streetlife.

If you are in Norway you will have felt the rain, seen the news on TV, or read the newspapers.
Lots of places have FLOODS, and seeing houses as well as cars, moving, carried along by rivers, is  not very nice!!

Here in Stavanger we have had a lot of rain but no flooding. But today, we have had a glimpse of sunshine.

This is an image taken near the Cathedral.

Dalsnuten.

Today I have been 324 m. above sea level, on a top of a mountain named DALSNUTEN.
This is a sporty family from Sandnes, with their cute dog.
The view behind them is Stavanger, but from the top you can see far away, and I think it has an absolutely fantastic view, so I strongly recommend doing this walk.
Many people were there today, and some very sporty people were even jogging their way up!

Marte and Benedicte.

It has been another VERY HOT day, which is quite unusual.
Well it is going to last until Sunday, so we better get the most out of it.

MARTE (on the left) and BENEDICTE were out with Marthe's dogs tonight.
(Benedicte also has a dog but he was at home.)

They are enjoying their summer holiday, and in ten days time they will be off to a beautiful greek island.
Have a great time!

Gizmo and Bente.

I met Bente and her dog, cute little Gizmo,
out in the rain this afternoon.
Gizmo turned out to be more interested in a dog on the other side of the road, than me and the camera.
Anyway, I hope they managed to get back home before it really began pouring down with rain!

It is amazing to see the enthusiasm many dogs show while walking out in the rain!
I do hope for less rain and more sunshine in the week to come!

It was a bit of spring in the air.

The dog owner with this happy Woofy is visiting Stavanger for the first time.
Yesterday was a sunny day, and my friend and I, who were out for a walk, had a chat with the man from Falun in Sweden.
No problems communicating using different Scandinavian languages.
Swedish and Danish are similar to Norwegian.
So learn one of the languages, and you will pretty much get two for "free".

Jenny and Charlie.

Do you remember your best friend from when YOU were a child??

Well, today I meet JENNY, age 8 with her little dog CHARLIE who is 7,5.

Tonight they will be back home again after a break in our region.
Thanks to Jenny´s mum who said yes to me to taking this photo of them.
It was nice meeting you all.
