DAPHNE from the Cologne area in Germany.

Yesterday on my way for a walk on the beach I met a woman, who had been on holiday with her family for 2-3 weeks. She has this beautiful name Daphne. ( I had to read up on Greek mythology when I came home.)
Today it is pouring down with rain, so it is good that you have a solid holiday home / caravan. Have a safe journey on the sometimes narrow roads we have here in Norway, and safe journey back to the Cologne area where you live in Germany.

Jackie in old Stavanger.

This is Jackie from London.
She works for a German bank in the city, the financial district of London.
It was her first time in Stavanger (and Norway.)
I asked her how she could describe our city, and she said she found it a slower pace and more relaxed.
Hope you have had a good holiday and take good memories back home with you.

The Three Swords.
This monument (Swords in Rock) was unveiled by king Olav back in 1983.
The swords were a gift from a local bank, and made out of stone by sculptor Fritz Røed.
They are 10 metres tall.
In the year 872 several kings were fighting here at Hafrsfjord, the battle was to unite all small kingdoms into one,
.
King Harald Fairhair won and became the king.
This is Vilma and Vanessa from Lima (Peru)
Vanessa is living in Norway, with husband and child.
Thanks for being my models V&V.

A guided tour.

The man in the read anorak was busy talking in a language I did not understand, but I guess he was a guide telling a group of tourists about our city. They were standing in front of the statue of Alexander Kielland, a famous author, who has been standing here for many years, facing the harbor and the once lively marketplace (the marketplace has been much less active over the last few years).

After I left the group of sporty women from Ski, a place outside Oslo, (yesterdays photo), I had a wonderful 3 hour trip with one of the boats from http://www.roedne.no
It was quite an International group of people who enjoyed the fjord trip and to see the famous mountain “Prekestolen”/ the Pulpit.
This is Maria from Madrid, who had seen a short film about Norway and the fjords..... She wanted to see it for herself, so on the spare of the moment she bought tickets and travelled here!! The day before she had been up to the top of “Prekestolen”
THE WINNER OF THE CD IS ROB (FROM BARCELONA)
Congratulations!
