Market day today.

We have had a beautiful Saturday!
Sunshine and +18C

In town we had a proper market day, with several locale quality products sold outside the Cathedral.

Here you see CHILI chocolate products made in the city centre.

Tomorrow there will be a "give away".

Christmas market.

Today was the annual Christmas market in "Old Stavanger".
Some sold handmade products together with friends,
some sold products where the money should go to charity.

A worthy cause.

Renate Schilling, a young economy student, has together with at least 15 of her friends done a brilliant job collecting and organising an event that took place today. Clothes, shoes, jewellery etc. were given to this centre, where they held a second hand market. All of the money raised goes to refugees from Syria. Well done!!

(They managed to raise 40 000 Norwegian kroner from the sale. )

Good to see that so many got involved in an important issue.

Advertising ?

Last weekend at the antique market I saw these old posters for sale, and I was wondering where they will end up. In a pub in Stavanger?
Well, they might have to be covered up.... Not a thing you will see any other place on the planet I guess.

Take a look at the link here and the images:

A beauty at the roundabout.

Walking through town today made me realise that some car owners just LOVE their old cars.
We have had a cold, bright and sunny day! Wonderful!

Artwork by Grete Stavland.

Grete Stavland, is the name of the artist who made these wonderful ceramic figures.
The facial expressions on all of them were just superb!
I hope the artist will be at the Christmas market next year too.

A busy day.

Busy at the old market place today.
There were many cruise passengers in town.
The sales people here spoke so many languages….. and the tourists payed cash with Euros.
A good day for shopping!
