Mathilde Christiane.

If you have been to Sola Strand Hotell, you might have noticed this; Mathilde Christiane, looking at you from the reception area. She was at the front of a Swedish shipwreck found back in 1822 on the coast just outside the hotel.

An eye catching addition to the place!

Fine looking figurehead. They were on most all sailing ships of the 19th Century. This one is in great shape for being on a wrecked ship.

This is wonderful. I know whereof I speak, too. Growing up, my Swedish parents were convinced that I was a Swedish shipwreck. Or something like that! :)

Glad that she was saved and can be admired here.
