Christmas or not...

It is soon Christmas time, and here you see some children waiting to visit the Cathedral.
Today was a perfect day to take a trip in to town. Cold but sunny.

It is up to the parents to say yes or no for their children to attend a church service before Christmas.

Some schools in Stavanger as well as other places in Norway have decided not to use the word Christmas, and instead name it a December event, where they sing the songs but words as Christmas/ Father Christmas have been changed to something "neutral".

Probably difficult to be a teacher and talk about Christmas without using the word....

I guess the discussion will continue also after Christmas this year....

Take a look at this :

I'm not particularly religious, so I'm not coming at it from that angle, but that really is ridiculous.

it has been that way here in the US for quite a while but seems to be taking a turn back to Merry Christmas...it's all a bit silly!
