Aren't timber houses like that so hard to heat?
That's good it became a landmark. Hopefully some funding can be found for some TLC. Nice sky!
The bare bones look sturdy, though it could use some freshening up.
This is very similar to old farmhouses in Minnesota. But it needs a bit of TLC.

A fixer-upper, at least from what we can see from the outside.
