The result from yesterdays voting about whether people in Stavanger and the two neighbouring councils, Sola and Sandnes should be combined into one big council or not, ended as most people thought..... the Stavanger people voted YES, the other two NO.
Only every fourth person in Stavanger voted, not very impressive.
But it was a democratic process, and now everything is back to normal, working as good neighbours.

Democracy at work.
People voted their conscious and hopefully now they are satisfied with the results.
I can say from local experience that amalgamation of municipalities can be a real headache.
Hi, Gunn. Thanks for asking if I bought any flowers. I have so many allergies, that I don't ever buy any. I like to look at them and take photos of them--that's how I get my enjoyment of their beauty.
I wish our elections here in the U.S. were that simple.
How interesting! Pity it didn't work out for Stavanger.
For the democratic process to work effectively, the people must participate - must get out and vote. It worked in this case, but perhaps not as effectively as it might have.
