Good Friday.

Good Friday is a Christian religious holiday, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary ( Golgata)

We call the day Langfredag, ( Long Friday), and in countries with mainly Christian People, it is a a Holy Day, and part of the Easter holiday.

The image is taken outside the St. Svithun Catholic Church here in Stavanger.

Hadn't heard of it being called Long Friday. It's generally referred to as Good Friday here.

We call it Karfreitag (German) or Venerdì Santo (Italian).

I must be travelling in the wrong circles because Holy Week doesn't seem to have the same emphasis it had when I was a kid. If you celebrate it, have a good Easter; if not have a wonderful week-end.

I never heard it called Long Friday either. Always Good Friday and as a young child we had to be quiet between 12 and 3. Supposedly that is when Jesus was hanging on the cross according to our teachers in the parochial school I attended.
