MUNCH's art in Sandnes.

Edvard Munch (1863 - 1944) is probably the most famous artist we have had in Norway.

One of his lithographs was sold this weekend at an auction house in Sandnes (the nearest town to Stavanger and about 20 minutes by car)

This is just a snapshot of the art. It is a portrait of Munchs Swedish friend Johan August Strindberg.
And it costed more than most people could/would pay.
Well, I guess it is an investment.

Most Norwegians who have been to Oslo have visited the famous and fantastic Munch Museum.
Lots of tourists also have that on the list of "what to do" when visiting the Norwegian capital.

I adore Munch. His seascapes are extraordinary.

Saw a traveling one man show of his many moons ago. At the Newport Harbor Art Museum in California 1984 (I think) with my best friend. Sweet memory.

I am such a tourist who visited the Munch exhibition two years ago and was on the bridge where the famous "the Cry" was painted. Loved it very much.

When I travel, I also love to check out local art on the grand scale or just in local shops.
