This is one of several embroderies I saw at "Cafe Sting" today, and believe me, I was only one of many people who took a second look!:)
JUL is Christmas in Norwegian. JALLA is a word that some use, take a look at this link:
I asked who had made this, but did not get a name, but later I found out more about the project about words that perhaps most of us would never have put up on the wall!

I ran this past my Norwegian husband. He said the jalla surely refers to the Christmas ornaments (similar to the ones on the needlepoint). It does get strange with the translation, though, doesn't it?

Interesting Gunn, I never connected 'guerrilla' and 'embroidery' before , they just don't seem to go together haha!

I have heard 'jalla' often in Middle-East with almost the same meaning of 'quick', 'hurry'. It has gone a long way to urban slang in Norway...
