Some people find time to do some voluntary work, and last night I met two of them who are out working for "Natte-Ravnene" (http://www.natteravn.no/finn-gruppe/)
TOR - ARNE and SIV are out on the streets in Stavanger from 21.00 until 02.00 once a month, together with several other adults in our city/suburbs (This also happens in many other places in Norway).
They work together with the police as well as ambulance staff.
Children and teenagers are sometimes in need of someone who can help.
Some adults might close their eyes and say that alcohol, drugs and violence does not exist !
But unfortunately there are more things happening than we like to admit.
It is an organization that will celebrate it's 20.th anniversary next year.
They all wear the same type of colorful anoraks, and are easy to spot!

An important job, and I am sure that youngsters and parents can be very greatful for all the times they have managed to help, or avoid a disaster developing.

Very nice photo of a very nice couple! What a great organization. And I certainly credit people who are willing to assist others in this manner! I'm sure they are a blessing to your community!

I can understand helping homeless and needy people, but I really wonder if it is really necessary to offer help to drunken (or worse) youngsters or adults. Isn't that a job for parents or friends?

Well VP, I guess parents can not be everywhere.
Friends are usually around the same age group..... and I have to admit that drinking alcohol is not done the same way here as in southern Europe.
Raging hormones and too much alcohol does not go well together, and some teenagers (and for that matter, some older people) might behave in a way that is not good!;(

Everyone is welcome to express their thoughts about this.
