Saturday morning it was discovered that someone had thrown a stone through the stained glass window at the Cathedral..... See the link here: http://www.aftenbladet.no/lokalt/stavanger/1215312/Uten_spor_etter_Domkirke-haerverk.html
I am not a regular church goer, but I really think it is sad that some people seem to get some sort of enjoyment from damaging other peoples property!! And in this case it is a heritage that is one of the most visited places in our district.
Do you have similar things happening where you are living?

How very sad - I hope they can repair it. There is vandalism here too. We have had windows broken at our church and lead stolen from the roof. Stupid, thoughtless people who don't seem to realise that a few moments of destruction costs much money, time and effort to fix.

Most churches here put up chicken wire or plexiglass on the outside of stained glass windows to prevent such a sad thing from happening.

We could all do well to have greater tolerance of others.

Vandalism, I guess there is no more in this, is sadly common here: graffiti and damages to parked cars and bikes.

That is so horrible. People can be so thoughtless and stupid! It's such a waste to ruin something that was beautiful for everyone!

We don't have alot of problems with vandalism and such here. But it's a shame that anyone would destroy someone's property, especially a place of worship.

If you only knew what sometimes happen in small old churches in this country (there are thousands!)... Not only vandalism but also the robbery of tiles, wooden statues, everything worth being in the (illegal) antiques trading. So sad and absolutely revolting!
