This is a piece of art that I don´t know anything about.
I have been passing the building so many times without actually seeing it before.
But since I now look at my city,- thinking about showing you what I see, I am aiming to finding out more. I might be wrong, but it does not look “typical Norwegian” does it?
In the meantime, you can guess what nationality the art has.

It's quite nice. On which building did you find it? I don't know what "typical Norwegian" would be...but, as crazy as this sounds, I think I agree with Leif Hagen!
Hm, Swiss or Danish? Anway, I love the way you put the sculpture out of the centre of the picture. It creates so much more tension than haviong it bang in the middle!
Nice contrast with the dark red background. Has it something to do with a phisician or a pharmacy?

I have sent out 4 e-mails today with questions about what I took a photo of, but so far only one has answered back, and unfortunately that did not include much more than that once the corner of the building was a bank..... BUT that info might lead to the right answer later on....Anyway, I think that Vogon Poet is right about the medical/pharmacy part as the symbol on the "shield" is a "Caduceus" see http://drblayney.com/Asclepius.html.

What's interesting about this piece of cast is that the surrounding background was painted a contrasting (red) color, which makes the white figure pop out.
