It is 11 years since the first food festival, “Gladmat”, opened in Stavanger.
Today it is the biggest one in all of the nordic countries.
This year more than 100 white tents have been put up with people who produce food and those who have restaurants etc, sell and give informations about their products.
I had a stroll around yesterday when it started. The weather is not the best, but lots of people enjoy the atmosphere and the chance to meet up with friends and colleagues.
The festival lasts until Sunday, and it is expected that there will be something in the region of 250.000 visitors.
As you can see, it was quite busy along the harbor.

I do enjoy those food fairs and this one looks especially nice. This is a well-composed photo which makes the festival mighty attractive.
My biggest problem at these things, no matter what the weather, is that I eat too much!
What a blast! It must be so much fun and yummy food to see and try! Wish I were there! Var sa snall og visa mera fotos derifra! Hilsen fra Hagen
I remember in the 80s when I lived outside Copenhagen, there was a great day where Nyhavn was taken over by the restaurants running b-b-qs, fantastic day, great food and that lingering smelled of grilled meat; seems a long time ago now.
Enjoy the food fair.
