Cancer research

(Saturday's posting, just a bit late.)

Landscape.... as you see it south of Stavanger.
The pink and blue  is a reminder of cancer research, that farmers support.
Probably a cause that many of us will get in touch with one way or the other.

Cancer research.

WELL DONE to all the farmers who are supporting cancer research.

Last year with PINK plastic out on the fields ... breast cancer.
This year there are BLUE ones too. Awareness and research on prostate cancer.

Some of the money they pay for the plastic goes straight to the research!

Again, WELL DONE!

It is potato season, and soon there will even be a potato festival at Bryne, south of Stavanger.

PINK - PINK - PINK

There is plenty of PINK out on the fields this year.
My husband call's these dinosaur tampons....

Joke aside. :-)

It is a GOOD REASON for pink "bags".
It is a campaign that will give 300.000 Norwegian Kroner to breast cancer research!

So well done to all involved.

Organic farming.

I have told you that I am so pleased that there are still areas left, farmland, open spaces, and places near to the city where you can go for walks ( jogging , cycling etc.)

If you are interested in organic farming, take a trip to the shop on the other side of this farm.
I am not a regular customer, but they have both companies and individuals who are true to their products.

I promise to pop in and take some photographs, so you can see what it is like.

Tune in...

By the way, what is your opinion about organic products?

A new donkey.

My friend and I were out on a "Walk & Talk" trip today, and discovered that the donkey family at Ullandhaug had got a new family member.

(I like the farmland we have, just 10 minutes away by car from the city centre.)

Near the airport.

It takes about 20 minutes by car from the airport in to the centre of Stavanger.

Luckily we still have a bit of farmland in and outside our town.
On a good day you might see it from the plane, together with a view over the fjords and mountains.
This plane is soon going to land.

Farmland.

I have told you that we still have some farmland here in the region of Stavanger.
This image is taken very close to the University area, and the Botanical Garden.
It is only 10-15 minutes by car in to the city centre.
I guess most students do not have a view similar to this:)

The sky as I saw it last night.

Friday, 8 June 2012

My friend (NN) keeps saying that "farmers have nothing to do in a town. . . . They should all move out of town so we could have got more places for flats and houses."
Do you agree?

A perfect day today for a walk around Ullandhaug.
Cold and sunny!:)

(This is only 10 minutes by car from the city centre.)
