SKOLESKIPET SJØKURS

I have had a nice tour around the school ship SJØKURS (Normally based in Kristiansand), where 60 young people can start their maritime education.
From time to time they are out on the open sea.
They had just been to Bergen, and this weekend they are visiting Stavanger.
Visitors were allowed onboard with guided tours.
My guide was Jack Hanche, from Horten. I had a nice and interesting tour.
The ship used to be part of the old Hurtigruten, as "Ragnvald Jarl"

KRIA, a beauty from the south.

A beauty from the south, a Colin Archer boat made in Randesundet (near Kristiansand) back in 1983.
The couple had had her for 15 years and enjoyed lots of nice holidays & trips.
I met Astrid and John on Sunday, and I have to say that KRIA looked very well kept.

They told me that there is more info. on "Finn", and yes, the photos are a lot better than my snapshot, so do take a look if you know the site and are interested.

An event named "FJORDSTEAM 2017" have lots to show and explore.

It is a big event and some boats will do trips out on the fjord for those who would like to use the opportunity.

I love the bright colour of the supply ship / offshore tug  VIKING QUEEN, and the feeling of being at the beach...

Good morning from Stavanger.

We have had a few very nice, sunny and cold days now.
It has been wonderful!

Another glimpse from yesterdays walk around at the harbour at Ølberg. It was windy and wet!
(Today we had a bit of snow, later some sunshine, than more strong winds.)

Sjoborg Leirvik.

I don't know who they were or what they were doing this afternoon.
But it looked like they had fun, so if it was work they must have had a jolly good day!

I zoomed in and found the name "Sjoborg Leirvik", and thanks to google I found out that they might work on the offshore supply ship from the Faeroe Island.

Anyway, on the way out of Vågen the speed went up, and on a grey day like this it was also great to see some splash of bright colour.
