ONS 2016

The ONS ( Offshore Northern Seas) 2016 is on this week.
An impressive event with oil and gas companies from all over the world.

Even the fact that many companies have been struggling for more than a year, and lots of people have lost their jobs.... this event looked very much like "business as usual".

I liked the style, the artistic design and colours here.
Listening to the people around me (all men) they were more interested in other details.

There will be lots of social events too. Take a look at www.ons.no

The ONS Artist this year.

TORBJØRN RØDLAND is the ONS Artist.
A photographer born in Stavanger, but now living in Los Angeles and Oslo.
I have seen some of his work before, but this time I had a look at KUNSTHALLEN.
If you are in Stavanger use the opportunity to see his work, and that include the film shown downstairs too.

http://www.rodland.net

I always sneak a photo or two of what is going on at museums.
People looking at art, or here some domestic work...

ONS

I am not good at technical things.
Walking around the ONS is like entering another world.
I get impressed about all the things that I don´t know much about.

But there are 3 things I have noticed that I will remember, which have nothing to do with the business....

1) The number of women who are walking around on really high heals!

2) Stand number 544. My favourite stand. The most friendly people and WOW what a creative presentation! Aesthetically pleasing and so informative about the area up in the high north, arctic area.
The film they are showing is just SUPERB!

3) The company "Talisman Energy" have used a fantastic illustrator artist, George Butler, who is doing the most amazing work I have seen for a long time.

Business people.

This is a typical scene from the ONS (Offshore Northern Seas) exhibition.
(See yesterdays posting).
Business people having a friendly chat and discussions over new products.

We have had a very nice and sunny day today, and I guess there will be lots of socialising for business partners and customers out into the early hours.

ONS 2014.

It is a BIG EVENT in Stavanger this week.
ONS (www.ons.no) is taking place. Oil related companies from all over the world come to show their products, take meetings and conferences and perhaps find new working partners. In some ways it is a little like "speed dating" for the oil industry.

Some prominent people also attend.

Here you see our PM Erna Solberg in blue, who even took the time to be photographed together with this young woman who looked very happy about the situation.

ONS was first arranged 40 years ago.

I have only been there a few times. The size as well as the standard and creativity of the stands, has become very impressive.

ONS started today!
Busy and hot inside the exhibition center.
Interesting and very very international.
Take a look at the link her:

No, I did not try this simulator at the stand from Marine Technologies , (from Egersund)
I was told that many captains are working in this field.

Business & Pleasure at ONS today.

Tuesday, 24 August 2010

The ONS (Offshore Northern Seas) 2010 was opened by King Harald today.
It is one of the world`s leading energy industry expositions.
Nearly 100 countries are represented and more than 40000 visitors will go and take a look.

I saw many formally dressed business people, but also a few who advertised in a more humorous way like this Danish company (Orskov Yard) with these two young German girls.
