Next to the church.

Stavange has got a wonderful place for Contemporary Art.
BGE Contemporary Art Projects
It is situated next to the Catholic Church at Kannik, and has not only great art, but also great architecture.
They also have a good collection of Art Books for sale.
New exhibition coming soon.

I will promise to post some art next time.
You might have been visiting it before the new building, when it was at Tollboden ?

Anyway, hope you have had a nice and happy weekend!

Good Friday.

Good Friday is a Christian religious holiday, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary ( Golgata)

We call the day Langfredag, ( Long Friday), and in countries with mainly Christian People, it is a a Holy Day, and part of the Easter holiday.

The image is taken outside the St. Svithun Catholic Church here in Stavanger.

The tower at the Catholic church, St. Svithun.

There has been major renovation going on the last 3 years, and it has become bigger.
When I walked by I saw there was still work going on outside.

Perhaps I should find out if it is possible to take some pictures from inside?

We only have one Catholic church in Stavanger, http://stavanger.katolsk.no/
Lots of building activities going on there now.
It is a popular church, and they needed more space.
Today I will show you an archive photo, from what used to be the entrance area.
Perhaps I will be able to take some more photos, when the building work is finished.
